BZI is thrilled to announce our strong presence at NASCC: The Steel Conference, starting today in Charlotte, N.C., at the Charlotte Convention Center. The Steel Conference is the industry’s top education event, featuring hundreds of sessions, and a large exhibit hall, bringing together leaders in steel construction.
BZI’s Chief Training Officer Justin Barlow will present about “QMS – It’s Not a Burden, It’s a Benefit.” The talk will focus on the quality and certification journey, how it differs, and insights from Justin about BZI’s journey to becoming AISC certified. He will also share what the entire BZI team learned through the process and how the journey has made the company a better fabricator. Lisa Patel, LEED A.P., will moderate the discussion, to be held on Thursday, April 13, from 9:45–10:45 am in room E220F.
Additionally, at the event, BZI will receive AISC’s “Erector Award of Honor” Safety Award. AISC Safety Awards honor fabricators and erectors whose efforts demonstrate their commitment to placing safety for their employees first. All active fabricator members and erector associate members are eligible. Awards are based on data reported to OSHA on form 300A. The program recognizes performance measured in terms of Days Away, Restricted or Transferred Rate (DART) – a measure of the number of recordable lost work cases per 200,000 man hours worked.
